In the 90’s, Gaz de France – established strong relationships and cooperation with the Chinese gas industries. Suez – the world leading company for environmental services has been active in China for over 40 years. In 2008, Gaz de France and Suez merged to form a world energy giant: GDF Suez. In April 2015, GDF Suez was renamed and became ENGIE.

As a global energy player, ENGIE also has high ambition in China. For this reason, the Group has created a dedicated Business Unit in charge of its activities in China: ENGIE China.

In China, and notably in Shanghai, we focus on renewable power production and O&M (solar mainly), EV charging and district energy networks such as district heating and cooling.
