On Sep 5, 2019, the 3rd Annual Meeting of Jinan Mayor’s International Economic Consultation Commission was held in Jinan, Shandong province. The theme is Creating a new highland for opening-up and building up new advantages in international competition. Ms. Charlotte ROULE, CEO of ENGIE China, attended the meeting and presented an advisory speech to support Jinan’s enhanced ambition on energy transition.
In 2018, the GDP per capita of Jinan surpassed 100,000 yuan for the first time, which demonstrated that Jinan has made significant progress in promoting the shift of old growth drivers to new ones, in deepening the reform and opening-up, and in developing the new urban areas. As an advisor for the 3rd consecutive year, Ms. ROULE witnessed Jinan’s rapid growth and is proud of its achievement as well. In her speech this year, she recommended that Jinan act as a pioneer of the country and develop a national pilot for zero-carbon transition in a bid to reduce ecological footprint and accelerate the transition to a new open economy.
